From ancient times, people regarded chess as a game that “includes everything.” They show great respect to chess.
从古代的时候人们就认为象棋是“象于万物，包罗万象”的棋类游戏。将象棋放到了一个非常非常神圣的高度。
In the Wei and Jin dynasties, Chinese chess became the favorite game of emperors and many officials.
在魏晋南北朝时期，象棋已经成为帝王将相和很多大官所喜爱的游戏。
Yuwen Yong , the Wu emperor of Northern Zhou Dynasty, also liked playing chess. He vigorously promoted chess in the government, and also write “Chess Lection” in person. He believed that there was a universe in the small board, which contains boundless secrets.
武帝宇文邕也很喜欢下象棋，他在朝廷中大力推广象棋运动，还亲自编写“象经”，他认为小小的棋盘中，包含了天地万物，奥妙无穷。
Chinese chess involves lots of knowledge. Learning chess can make us more clever.

Tips:
Yuwen Yong (A.D. 543-578), the Wu emperor of Northern Zhou Dynasty. His reign contained the vast areas of the Yellow River basin and the upper reaches of the Yangtze River, which laid the foundation for the unification of the Sui Dynasty. He was an icon in Chinese chess history, and there is a poem said:” Miles of the Yangtze River around his palace, all over the country became the battlefield. All the officials were sitting in the imperial palace and listen to the king to talk about chess.”
小百科：
北周武帝宇文邕（公园543年-公园578年），在位拥有黄河流域及长江上游的广阔土地，为后来隋的同一奠定了基础。他是象棋历史中非常重要的人物，《历代百弈图咏》：“万里长江绕北庭，九宫争战杂雷霆。百僚文武趋金殿，恭听君王讲象棋。”
